Leaving a gift in your Will to a registered charity like Safe Child Thailand can significantly reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax (IHT) you have to pay on your estate.
Charitable gifts are entirely exempt from IHT, meaning they are deducted from the taxable value of your estate. Additionally, if you leave at least 10% of your taxable estate to charity, the IHT rate on the remaining estate is reduced from 40% to 36%. This means your legacy not only helps vulnerable children access education but also ensures that more of your estate is directed toward meaningful causes.

Gift a University Scholarship
A university education can provide young people with the qualifications and skills they need to pursue their chosen career. For students from families experiencing financial hardship, however, the cost of university can be a significant barrier.
For students who have studied on the border, the chances of accessing higher education can be even more limited. Some dedicated students have had to reconsider their chosen career simply to meet the requirements for a scholarship. Even then, students who are determined to continue their education and change their circumstances can remain on a scholarship waiting list for three years or more.
A gift in your Will can help sponsor a university scholarship, supporting a student with the costs of higher education and giving them the opportunity to continue their studies.

Some children in Thailand face overwhelming barriers to education, living in remote border communities, enduring unstable or unsafe home environments, or facing the risk of exploitation and child labour. To protect them, Safe Child Thailand supports dedicated learning centres, safe boarding houses, and community education programmes across the country.
Keeping these vital places running requires sustainable, long-term funding. For example, a safe house for women and children and funding an education project for vulnerable migrant children requires significant annual investment to cover safe shelter, nutritious meals, school supplies, and trained care workers.
Legacy gifts are crucial to keeping these homes open, expanding our reach, and building safe spaces for children who desperately need support. Your gift ensures a child can stay in school, gain key life skills, and live an independent life away from the challenges and barriers they were born in to.
